The GOTS-Certificate.

GOTS stands for Global Organic Textile Standard. This is an internationally recognized standard for the processing of textiles made from organically produced natural fibres. It also defines environmental requirements along the entire textile production chain as well as strict ecological and social criteria. The GOTS certificate stands for transparency and guarantees products that have been produced fairly and sustainably.

As you can see from the graphic, our most important production steps are GOTS-certified. Only our partners in the cutting and tailoring departments are not certified, as they are very small businesses for which GOTS certification is not yet financially viable. That is why it is out of the question for us to end our long-standing relationship due to a lack of certification.

Seit 2017 versorgen wir die Welt mit fairem und nachhaltigen Merchandise-Artikeln. Jedes Jahr kommen ein paar hundert Projekte dazu und jedes einzelne trägt dazu bei, dass wir die Textilindustrie ein kleines Stückchen besser machen.

For this, we need one thing in particular: a textile producer who shares the same values. And for which fairness and sustainability are not just empty words, but a must-have. We found this producer in Portugal. And more than that. We now have our own office in Portugal and have established a production network of around 15 partners. In this way, we control every step and keep an eye on the entire supply chain. And the most important thing: We are there with our hearts too. Maintain local friendships. Nuno

Fabric producer and supplier

We got to know Nuno about 2 years ago and since then he has fulfilled our every wish when it comes to fabrics. From our classic polyester-cotton jersey (recycled or organic) to cuddly organic cotton and functional textiles made from wood fibers. In addition to fabric production, Nuno is also very familiar with the topic of recycling. Together with his father, he runs a processing plant where the fabric scraps from various companies are collected, sorted by color and quality and then pressed into bales.

Cutting

To ensure that your T-shirt fits properly, it must of course be cut perfectly. This is ensured by José, among others. He set up his own business a few years ago and runs a small company with two employees. In addition to our textiles, many fabrics from major brands are also cut there. With this small team, we are very flexible and can rely on the precision and attention to detail of our partner.

Printing

Once the fabric for your new T-shirt has been made and the individual parts cut out, it's time to customize the T-shirt. Belinha, her aunt and the rest of this professional print shop take care of this. Equipped with the best machines for screen printing & co., hundreds of textiles are printed there every day. Whether small details or full prints across the entire textile, there are almost no limits.

Embroidery

Small motifs and logos are particularly suitable for embroidery. In this case, Pedro is our contact person. In his small but excellent embroidery shop, he not only produces standard embroideries, but also very special projects with sequins. In addition to our print shop, we also have a competent partner for embroidery in Pedro, with whom we can realize any style according to our wishes.

Sewing

Now we have arrived at the most important step: the fabric becomes a finished T-shirt or hoodie. In the sewing room, the individual parts are sewn together from the cut into one piece. With extreme precision and a great deal of dexterity, each individual piece becomes a masterpiece. Raquel, her mother and ten other hard-working hands work in the mountains above Fafe and make it possible for you to buy so many beautiful textiles from us. We are proud to be an important partner of this small company and to ensure continuity with every order. Raquel is also our master coordinator and has a great overview of all production processes.

Washing

Before your T-shirt lands on your desk, it is thoroughly tested once again. Felipe and his team wash and dry our products using state-of-the-art industrial machines so that you don't have any nasty surprises after the first wash. This guarantees the highest quality and longevity for every single item.

FAQ

What shipping options are available to me?

We offer various shipping options, from standard to express. Depending on your location and the urgency of your order, we can arrange the best shipping solution for you. Delivery to several locations is also possible.

How can I get personalized samples for our products?

For orders of 500 pieces or more, we will create a sample (for a fee) on request after the order has been placed. For small orders, we can send you a package with various customer projects. You can easily book this package by scrolling down and clicking "Order sample".

What does sustainable production mean at Das Merch.?

Sustainability is the core of our brand. We use materials from ethically responsible sources almost exclusively (more than 95% of all orders) and work with production partners who are committed to environmentally friendly practices. In addition to sustainable materials, all textiles are produced in the EU. We have a close relationship with our production partners and employ a tailor shop with around 10 employees in Fafe, Portugal. In addition, we only work with GOTS-certified printing companies. Can I reorder my merchandise exactly the same even after a long period of time?

Since we manufacture the products directly and do not use blanks from other brands, we can still produce your desired product after several years. Should a material or accessory no longer be available from one of our production partners for any reason, we will find an individual solution for you with our team in Portugal.

What design options does Das Merch. have?

How can I get an offer for my merchandise?

The fastest way is through our configurator. Live pricing is integrated there, so you can see how the price changes with every design change. If you need a written offer, please contact us using the contact form.

What is the minimum order quantity (MOQs)?

Our minimum order quantities start at 50 pieces per design. This means that you can order a t-shirt or hoodie in different sizes, but you must buy 50 pieces of the same T-shirt in the same color with the same design. For socks, we have a minimum quantity of 300 pairs per size range (e.g. 39-42 or 43-46). Take a look at our configurator, there you can see exactly how much your design will cost.

How long does it take on average for my order to be delivered?

Delivery times vary depending on product type and order quantity. We can deliver some products such as t-shirts and hoodies in our standard colors in around 4 weeks, but in general, you should always plan for 8 weeks. For specific time estimates depending on your order, please contact our customer service.
