Together against violence against women & girls — No Walls Left x UN Women Austria

Merch for a good cause

A charity project that combines art and engagement

Today we want to tell you about a very special project, where we are particularly proud to be part of. We're talking about the No Walls Left x UN Women Austria campaign “Kunst, die bewegt" (Art that moves”).

Violence against women and girls is one of the most widespread violations of human rights worldwide. In order to address this problem with joint efforts, the initiative No Walls Left has started a remarkable collaboration this year. Carried out together with UN Women Austria and the international initiative “Orange the World” No Walls Left ran the charity project “Kunst, die bewegt”. This is a charity campaign that draws attention to the topic by selling exclusively designed T-shirts and generates funding for violence prevention programs.

From November 25 to December 10 — the 16 days against violence — the No Walls Left web shop was open. T-shirts with unique designs from seven Austrian artists could be purchased there. These works carry impressive messages that should not only touch people but also inspire them to take action. All proceeds will be donated to UN Women's Orange Fund. This fund supports over 170 local violence prevention programs, which benefit countless women and girls worldwide.

The initiative was led by Ali Mahlodji (ali.do), Klaus Buchroithner (Das Merch.), Colin Linde (Oxymoron Galerie) and Hannes Puchner. In recent years, over 68,000€ has already been collected and donated through their campaigns. This year, the team has grown thanks to the participation of Patricia Wenigwieser, who has already implemented a successful fundraising project on the topic of violence against women in Linz, for which she was awarded the Women's Prize of the City of Linz 2024.

T-shirts with an impact

At the heart of this year's project are T-shirts, which were of course produced sustainably and fair by us. Sustainability should not be neglected, especially when it comes to a charity campaign that promotes socially important causes such as preventing violence. It would be contradictory to offer products for a good cause that were manufactured under poor conditions or from environmentally harmful materials. For this reason, we rely on T-shirts made from organic cotton, which are produced in Portugal in an environmentally friendly and fair manner.

The organic cotton used saves resources such as water and energy and does not use harmful chemicals. The shirts not only combine stylish design with a clear message, but also the values of sustainability and responsibility. Every purchased shirt is not only is a statement against violence, but also a contribution to a better environment.

Why we support such projects

We believe that companies can take responsibility and drive positive change. Charity projects like this offer the opportunity to make socially relevant issues visible and actively make a difference through sustainable textiles. It is important to us that our products are not only aesthetic and of high quality, but also reflect the values of our partner projects.

By participating in the “Kunst, die bewegt” campaign, we can show, together with committed artists and organizations, that sustainability and social commitment can go hand in hand. By producing the T-shirts under fair conditions, we create a platform for art that inspires and spreads a message that needs to be heard.

Do you have a project in mind that you could have an impact? We would be delighted to support you. Get in touch with us and let's make a difference together - for a better world and a sustainable future.

What does sustainable production mean at Das Merch.?

Sustainability is the core of our brand. We use materials from ethically responsible sources almost exclusively (more than 95% of all orders) and work with production partners who are committed to environmentally friendly practices. In addition to sustainable materials, all textiles are produced in the EU. We have a close relationship with our production partners and employ a tailor shop with around 10 employees in Fafe, Portugal. In addition, we only work with GOTS-certified printing companies. If you want to know more, check out our sustainability page.

Can I reorder my merchandise exactly the same even after a long period of time?

Since we manufacture the products directly and do not use blanks from other brands, we can still produce your desired product after several years.
